The dispute resolution practice of our firm (comprising of litigation, mediation and arbitration) is ably led by our principal partner, Mr. Adesegun Ajibola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and comprises other highly skilled legal practitioners who are always seeking creative solutions to disputes. The SAN title is a prestigious rank equivalent to that of the Queen’s Counsel in the United Kingdom, and Mr. Ajibola is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria (FCIArb). He is a recipient of the overall best candidate and winner of the first position prize of the Institute.
Our firm is also actively involved in alternate dispute resolution (ADR) and the settlement of commercial disputes. The scope of ADR has been enlarged especially in Lagos State and other jurisdictions with the establishment of the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC) and the amendment of the civil procedure rules of the various high courts to include referrals to arbitration. This mode of dispute resolution has its advantages, which include privacy and the choice of venue/arbitrators.
