Akinmade Ajibola, is a Partner in the firm and leads the Corporate Commercial Law Team. Over his 19 years of active legal practice, Akin has garnered vast experience in corporate and commercial law practice and transaction advisory. He has provided services to numerous clients in the public and private sector particularly in relation to foreign investment & joint venture, oil & gas, private equity investment, corporate governance & restructuring, transport and infrastructure matters. Akin advises on Public Private Partnership, he was the Lead Legal Adviser in the successful bid for the National Arts Theatre, Nigeria (2007) and acts as the Lead Legal Transaction Adviser to Nigeria Railway Corporation on the Public Private Partnerships in Nigeria (2016). He has been involved with a number of international and domestic arbitration. He served as Clerk to a Commissioner of the Eritrea/Ethiopia Boundary Commission – working on the implementation of the Arbitral Award settling boundary disputes between Eritrea and Ethiopia. (2000- 2002); and served as Legal Assistant to President, World Bank Administrative Tribunal, Washington, USA. (2002-2004).
He was appointed the Technical Adviser on Legislative Drafting by the Department of Foreign and International Department (DFID) in 2017 and Chairman of several drafting committees for the Transport Sector Reform agenda of the 8th National Assembly, where he led the drafting of numerous bills within the transport and infrastructure sector. He presently acts as the Facilitator for the Infrastructure and Urban Development Working group of the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER).
